Paddle Against Child Abuse

PACA(Paddle Against Child Abuse) events will be held globally to help raise the awareness against child abuse and also to help victims find peace using ocean paddle sports.

At the age of 40 Damien Rider undertook an 800km solo paddle from the Gold Coast to Bondi Beach in Sydney. He had to traverse shark-infested waters, treacherous reefs and inclement weather over 17 days of gruelling physical pain and mental and emotional endurance – a feat no-one had ever tried before.

He had only started paddle boarding eight months prior to his record-breaking adventure, which aimed to raise awareness about the impact of child abuse and the emotional challenges that abuse survivors face every day.

A documentary, called Heart of the Seawas made about Damien’s paddle.  A copy of the movie can be purchased here
